FOREST ECOLOGIST: The Environmental Sciences Team requires a Forest Ecologist to work with team members, contractors & other partners associated with woodlands, mill operations and environmental sciences to initiate, conduct and implement operational research projects. Projects could include areas of environmental, technology advancements or operational improvements relating to cost, safety, quality, production, community and/or environmental objectives. You will also assist the company in maintaining third party certifications such as Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Involves working with many stakeholders to develop project plans, implement trials, overcome obstacles and work toward resolution. Applicants require a B.Sc. in Forestry or Ecology; or Environmental Sciences (a master’s or Ph.D. Is preferred) and 5 years renewable resource experience. Must be self-motivated with a genuine desire to support a new approach to forest management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with an innovative approach to problem solving is essential.
GIS ANALYST: The IT Team requires a GIS Analyst with excellent communication/presentation skills and the ability to manage deadlines. Responsibilities include, map production, data management, GIS infrastructure maintenance, GIS spatial analysis, technical and custom application support, scripting, programming, training, strategic development and implementation of new technology along with budgeting and planning. A university degree in geography, forestry or a related discipline, accompanied with formalized GIS training is preferred. A minimum of 3 years GIS experience with ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, ArcWorkstation along with scripting experience using Python and AML would be assets. Proven expertise in development and implementation of quality controls and standards, operating procedures related to management, production and processing of GIS data are a must. Knowledge of database management/design concepts is essential.
WEBMASTER: As an integral member of the IT Team, you will be responsible for management of internal and public websites, including documents, databases and multimedia. You will train and communicate with content authors in the construction of web pages and ensure relevant policies, procedures and standards are followed. As the technical expert, you will prepare a long term plan for web site development; research and integrate new technologies and provide support for all web related incidents. You will have a college diploma or university degree in computer science and/or 3 years equivalent work experience. A strong working knowledge of MS Office Sharepoint, the .NET platform and MS IIS is preferred. Experience with databases, database design, SQL, SQL Server, My SQL and common web languages such as Java, Javascript and VBScript are a must. Additionally, experience with various web browsers and compatibility issues (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera) is required.
BUSINESS ANALYST: As a member of the Corporate Planning team you will be involved in a number of functions including: · Financial Modeling - Design and construction of financial models for a variety of projects. - Maintenance of and response to client requests for existing models (Business Planning, ROI) - Assist in the review and prioritization of capital and IT projects · Business Process Modeling / Improvement · Project Management/Implementation · Strategic/Business Planning and Risk Management · Feasibility studies · Post project assessments The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years related experience. An MBA is preferred, or a financial designation or equivalent. Experience in the manufacturing industry in a highly computerized environment along with extensive knowledge of Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Access and MS Project are a must.
MILLWRIGHT As a leader in the trade, the successful candidate’s technical skills, experience and interpersonal skills will be utilized in our multi-skilled maintenance teams. This team member must have an Alberta Millwright ticket or Interprovincial Red Seal. Pulpmill experience would be a definite asset.
